PROYECTO RESIDENCIAL | SAN ISIDRO, BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA
We proposed this house as a cell, again investigating our reading of the problem of housing in the Gated Neighborhoods. This house is an evolution of the thinking that we develop in other houses, adapting to the context that forms another reflection. In the studio we call it the Cell house.
The house is developed around a central core in which every space ends in a large overhead opening in which narrow concrete beams shape the Sun into the space.
It is a home in which all areas of common use are linked to each other and there are several possible circulations. The bedrooms on the upper floor, although in private situations, also open to the central space that runs through the core of the house.
From an energy point of view, we propose that the opening of the central core can be opened, which generates a convection effect in summer, in which the air circulates throughout the house, releasing temperature and keeping it cool without the need to condition the air. At the same time, in Winter, exposing the core of the house to the sun throughout the day allows it to receive heat and bounce the sun through the heart of the house, transmitting its warmth.
